How does stone transport with GECO 300 work?
Three steps from lifting the slab to laying it in place
Inspect the slab and check the lifter
Make sure the stone surface is clean and dry. Check the gauge reading and compare with the load capacity table on the suction pad.
Apply and lift
Apply the lifter to the slab, start the pump and wait for the indicator to reach the green zone on the gauge. Only then lift the load.
Transport and place
Move the slab to the target location. Once it is resting stably, release the vacuum – the lifter detaches without damaging the surface.
Important factors when working with stone
Follow these rules to ensure full safety and lifter effectiveness
Surface structure
Polished and machined stone surfaces (granite, basalt, marble) provide excellent vacuum – often higher than industrially manufactured materials. Rough-split or heavily textured stones require a seal check before lifting.
Moisture and contamination
A wet, dusty or oily stone surface significantly weakens suction. Before using the lifter, clean and dry the surface where the suction pad will be applied.
Matching load capacity
Match the lifter's load capacity to the weight of the element being moved. Read the current vacuum value from the gauge and compare it with the table on the suction pad – the only reliable method of verification.
Slab condition
Do not lift slabs with visible cracks or chipped edges. Even perfect vacuum grip cannot compensate for the weakened structure of a damaged element.
During stone transport and lifting, no person may stand under the raised slab. Before releasing the lifter, ensure the element is resting stably on the target surface.
Every GECO suction pad has a load capacity table based on the vacuum achieved. Read the current value from the gauge and compare it with the table – the most reliable way to verify safe loading under actual working conditions.
