Laying Paving Stones with Vacuum Technology
Vacuum technology eliminates the biggest problems in paving work: back strain, risk of material cracking and slow pace. The GECO 200 and GECO 300 lifters – designed and manufactured in Poland – change the way pavers work every day.
How vacuum technology works in paving
The GECO vacuum lifter is a professional handheld vacuum device designed for lifting and laying paving stones, pavement and terrace slabs, granite, porcelain and concrete slabs, kerb stones and precast elements. The electric turbine (230V) generates 35 kPa of vacuum pressure through three stages of compression – sufficient even for highly porous materials.
The device is activated with one button. Two people lift the gripper by the handles and lower it onto the target element – the paving stone is automatically sucked by the suction plate. After moving, the element is lowered and suction is released by pressing the release lever near the handle. Adjustable handles allow the device to be adapted to the operator's height and make it easier to work in difficult conditions such as on stairs.
Operating the lifter – step by step
Switch on the device
Start the vacuum turbines with one button. Before starting work, make sure all components are in place and in good condition, and that the seal between the suction plate and the mounting plate is clean.
Place the lifter on the element
Two people lift the device by the handles and lower it onto the target element. The paving stone or slab is sucked automatically – gripping time 0.5 seconds. The green indicator light confirms safe vacuum pressure.
Move the element to the target location
Safely handle the element – carry the paving stone over the designated spot. Adjustable handles reduce strain on the operators' musculoskeletal system.
Lower and release the load
Lower the element to the target position and press the release lever near the handle – release time 0.3 seconds. The paving stone safely settles onto the bedding layer.
⚠ Important – monitoring device operation
During work, regularly observe the warning indicator lights. The red light signals that the device temperature is too high – stop work and allow the lifter to rest through ventilation. Never lift elements with an active red signal. If the load being moved is highly porous or has cracks and indentations, transfer may not be possible – check the suction plate selection.

Suction plates – choosing the right one for your paving type
Interchangeable suction plates are the key element of the GECO system. A seal must be present between the suction plate and the lifter's mounting plate – clean it before assembly. The suction plate is fastened with ISO 7380 M8x20 screws at 23 Nm torque. If the sealing edge of the suction plate is damaged, replace it before continuing work.
💡 Choosing the right suction plate
For standard concrete paving stones, the 400x300 mm plate (capacity 100/160 kg) is sufficient. For larger slabs use the 600x375 mm plate (200/320 kg) or the narrow 270x780 mm plate (200/320 kg), ideal for stair treads and large elements. For kerb stones, use the dedicated kerb stone suction plate. For highly porous or rough materials always check the condition of the seal – a worn seal significantly reduces suction effectiveness. GECO Cart Paving Trolley – mobile platform for hard-to-reach places
GECO Cart is a mobile platform for transporting and manoeuvring concrete, granite and stone slabs in hard-to-reach places. Its main strength is working along walls and in internal corners and during repair work – where other solutions fall short. The compact frame and sturdy wheels allow free manoeuvring even in tight spaces. The trolley is compatible with the GECO 200 and GECO 300 lifters – the lifter mounts on a dedicated bracket, eliminating the need to manually carry heavy elements.

How many people are needed to operate the GECO vacuum lifter?
The GECO 200 and GECO 300 are operated by two people – one activates the device and places it on the element, the other supports the transfer. The device is activated with one button; the element is automatically sucked by the suction plate.
Is the GECO lifter suitable for granite paving stones?

What is the warranty on GECO lifters?
The manufacturer guarantees repair or replacement of the equipment within 12 months of the purchase date. In the event of a fault, report the issue, prepare the device for courier collection, and the repaired device will be returned free of charge using original parts.
