FAQ

Frequently asked questions

General

What are the benefits of UP GECO machines?
Our products increase productivity, shorten working time and improve safety on site. They relieve operators’ backs and joints, reducing the risk of injury.
What jobs is the GECO gripper best suited for?
For laying paving and patio slabs, installing steps and kerbs, and moving precast elements — wherever a lot of material needs moving quickly while keeping the surface looking good.

Products and specifications

How do the GECO gripper models differ?
The GECO 200 is a light electric model for everyday crew work. The GECO 300 has a stronger turbine and higher capacity. The GECO 300 PRO is hydraulic — no electricity — and connects directly to an excavator. Current specifications are on the product pages — the range keeps growing.
What is the lifting capacity and what does it depend on?
Capacity depends on the model and the suction plate used, chosen for the element’s size and weight. Current values for each model are on the product pages.
How are the devices powered?
Electric models run on 230 V mains (vacuum turbine). The GECO 300 PRO is fully hydraulic and needs no electricity, which increases mobility on site.
How fast is the grip?
Gripping and releasing the load takes fractions of a second — work flows smoothly, with no delays for fastening.

Materials and applications

What materials can the GECO gripper lift?
Concrete, natural stone, porcelain and precast elements, as well as paving blocks, patio and pavement slabs and kerbs.
Can it handle porous and large-format materials?
Yes. The turbine vacuum system is designed for porous materials too, and interchangeable suction plates let you adapt the device to different surfaces and formats.
Can the suction plates be changed?
Yes — they are interchangeable, chosen for the material and required capacity, including variants e.g. for steps.

Operation and safety

How many people are needed to operate it?
Manual models are usually operated by two people using the handles; one-person work is possible when suspended from a machine. Hydraulic models are controlled from the excavator cab.
Does operation require a licence?
No — operation is simple and requires no special licences. We provide training and technical support.
Is the device safe?
Yes. The devices carry the CE mark and are designed to European safety standards for lifting equipment. A load-securing chain is included.

Kit, warranty and service

What is included in the kit?
Depending on the model: gripper, suction plates, handles, securing chain, release lever, power cable and mounting accessories. The exact contents are listed on each product page.
What is the warranty?
12 months as standard — covering all models.
Do you offer service support and how do I report a fault?
Yes. You report the fault, prepare the device for courier pickup, we repair it with original parts and send the working machine back — return shipping is on us. We also offer spare parts and operator training.
Where do you deliver your products?
Our products are available across Europe. We also arrange international transport.
